Fermoy Soccer Club – Schoolboy Awards

Fermoy Soccer Club held its annual schoolboy awards in the Pitch and Putt Clubhouse on Friday night last.

Opening the meeting, club chairman, Billy Howard welcomed all in attendance and congratulated the boys from all teams for their great efforts and dedication both in the training sessions and the matches throughout the season. These boys are the future of our club and Fermoy FC are fortunate to be able to field schoolboy teams at Under 11,12,13,14,15 and 16 age groups.

Billy especially thanked the managers of all of the teams,  who’s efforts and dedication deserve special mention. These are the backbone of the club, organising their various teams for matches, transport, gear, training and of course ensuring that the boys enjoy themselves, improve their skills and learn to be part of a team and club set-up.

He also thanked the parents in attendance and encouraged parents to come and support their boys and their teams on match-days. Any parents wishing or willing to get involved should contact the relevant team manager or any committee member…..your help and involvement would be greatly appreciated.

With the formalities concluded, the main focus of the evening was on the boys receiving their Player of the Year and ‘Clubman’ of the year presentations. The managers made the presentations to the various recipients and the evening ended with some ‘sausages & chips’ for all concerned.

Thanks to all who helped on the night and particularly to Ciara in the bar.
