Juniors convincing win

Glasheen 0 Fermoy 3

Fermoy got their League campaign off to an ideal start with a convincing win in Bishopstown on Saturday last. They dominated the game throughout and should have added a few more goals to their tally.

They went  in front after 15 minutes following a good run by Andrew McCarthy who found  Alan McCormack who finished well. Mick Hennessy then went close with a good effort before the keeper made a fine save from a Paul Howard header. A couple of other chances went abegging before half time so they had to settle for a 1 goal lead at half time.

Glasheen had a little more possession early in the second half but at no stage were they able to test Liam Coleman in the Fermoy goal . The second goal came 10 minutes in to the second half when Dave Keatings pass put Andrew McCarthy away on the right and his cross was finished by Alan McCormack. It was very much one way traffic afterwards and they added a third goal 15 minutes from time with a header by Dave Keating from Damien Barrys free kick. Mark Kenny then had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside  while  Alan McCormack was off target with a couple of chances to complete his hat trick.
